Baby News and The Scary Weekend

It's a BOY! Yep...that is right, I am having a boy. It was a bit surprising that I am having a boy and I know nothing about them. It will be ok though! The ultrasound was a great and special experience. At 2:00 on Friday we went in to find out what our baby is. Ben and I walked into the office and sat there in great anticipation. The lady called us in and she was almost ready to have her baby as it is. She has a week left and she looked very uncomfortable. In the ultrasound the radiologist checked the heart and the spine and a few other things. The baby is right of track and healthy. We were happy about that. As the woman told us that our baby was a boy, I knew that I had lost a bet and Ben's ego was higher than ever. He was so happy. I am glad that he now has something to look forward to.

After all this excitment Ben and I took off on our adventure to Denver. It started out to be so much fun. As the time got closer to midnight my hormones tripled and I was a mess. I was so tired and I just wanted to find a place to sleep. Poor Ben was grantically trying to find a decent place to stay that wasn't too expensive. We found a motel 6 and paid for a room. I got into the room and it was absolutely discusting. There was hair in the bed, no electricity, and a really gross bathroom. So I started to cry and told Ben that we are going to get our money back. He eventually got the money back, and we basically drover through downtown Denver at 1:00 in the morning trying to find a place to stay. There were barred up windows on stores and homes, drunk Mexicans everywhere, and trash that lined the streets. It was so gross. We finally found a Days Inn. We went in to ask for their rates and the lady told us it was $90.00. I wanted to cry again. Ben asked the lady if she knew of any other places to stay, and she said she would give us a room for $60.00. We took it. We got our stuff out of the car and were scared to leave it, just in case it was broken into in the morning. On our way to the room...we were greeted by a drunk Mexican who wanted to give us his beer and cigarettes. I was terrified. It was so scary. Ben told him to help us look for our room and he left...for a second! He came back and was following me. I pushed Ben aside and he talked to the man who was standing like 2 centimeters away from my face. Ben told him that he needed to go back to his room and we needed to go to ours. He finally left and I was shaking so badly. If was a nightmare. The next morning we got up and found somewhere to eat breakfast. We saw where Ben will be going to school, and where we would like to live. It was a little better. Later in the morning we went to the Denver Zoo. It was so much fun and we loved all the animals and the sun. Towards the end, my hands and feet were really swollen and that meant it was time to leave. We went to get some lunch and get on our way. We drove home a day earlier than we planned. Which was a lot better. On Saturday at 1 in the morning we got back to good ol' Provo Utah! There were Mormons and churches on every corner. It felt nice.

Yesterday morning Ben and I went to church. At 7 us and another couple went to a park to play some games and to have some treats. We got more than we bargained for. While we were sitting there. A weird man wearing a Bob Marley Jamaican shirt, army cargo shorts, mickey mouse gloves, and a sailors hat slowly examined all of the cars that were there. He got into an older Jeep Cherokee and then we called the cops. It turned out that this man has had several encounters with the law. He poored listerine all over himself to protect him from getting Herpes, and he sits in the middle of the road, and tons of other things that are way crazy. So after the cop had told us where this man lived, we had to go and check it out. We found out where he lives and it is not too far from where we live. It was a little freaky. After all these adventures and I finally let down, I had nightmares all night. I didn't sleep and I had the most freaky dreams. It was horrible.

This weekend was an adventure that Ben and I soon won't forget. It was rough and we are still extremely tired. Hopefully this week gets better!
