Happy Thanksgiving. This year was a little different for both Ben and I. It was an emoptional time for both of us because we both missed our families and the way that Thanksgiving used to be. It is hard to make it a good Thanksgiving when money is tight and we are not cooking. All morning I had Christmas music going (a tradition at my home), but it still didn't feel like Thanksgiving. We went to the Relief Society president's home with her family and some other families. It was a beautiful day and we even spent a little time outside. The food was great of course. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pies and cheesecakes, salads, and lots of yummy stuff. It was so good to be around great people. Braeden had a lot of fun playing with the other babies his age and just running around everywhere. Thank you Sister Johnson, Sister Riggs, and all others who hosted this day for us. It was wonderful. We appreciate the kindness. We stayed a while and went home to have a rest and watch the rest of Star Trek. EW! That was not a good movie. This is the second time that I had said that. The rest of the day we played Mario Cart, made a house on our Interior Design program on the computer, and just had a fun day.
On Black Friday we all got up at 6:30 and left at 7:30 to see what the stores had to offer for us. We would have loved to get so many things, but a 52" TV isn't really something that is living frugally. We did get a jigsaw and a sander for Ben and Horton Hears a Who on DVD. It was only $5.00. We didn't buy a lot of things, but it is okay because we should have just had to move them with us.
We have been spending a lot of time this holiday just playing the Nintendo 64 and playing our Interior Design program that Ben got me last Christmas. It is so fun to dream of a house that you can make someday or even just to mess around. We have been learning how to use it and it is so much fun...too much fun that we waste too much time on it :)
