1st Emergency Room Visit

For the last few days AND nights, Braeden has not been himself. He has not made messes, and he looked like he was in pain and sad all the time. He didn't sleep well at night. I started to get a little worried yesterday when he had a really high fever and he threw up a lot. So that meant he wasn't getting enough to eat. Well I had Biology class last night and finals are coming up so I was torn between being a mother and being a student. Well after crying a while I got a feeling that I needed to take my little boy to the ER to get checked out. My mom had smelled his breath and she told me is smelled like strep. So I went to class for a sec...told my teacher that I was needing to leave and what I needed to do, and he let me go. I had not missed a class and I didn't want to either. BUT being a mother is my top priority right now, so I needed to take care of my boy. I went back to Glenwood to pick up my mom and sister Jess. We went into the ER so they could see what was going on. They checked his ears, and that was a fight. Finally the doctor had to go get a nurse to forcefully hold his little arms behind his head. He was so upset and was crying so much. It was hard to see but I needed to know what was wrong with him. They checked his oxygen levels and he was not dehydrated. So that was good. They checked him for strep and that was a negative. The doctor basically said the bad breath could have been from the nasal drip from teething. He basically has the worst teething. His ears, nose, and throat are all being affected by his teeth coming in. So I am alternating Tylenol and Ibuporfen and he seems to be feeling a LOT better today. By the looks of my house he is feeling a lot better. :)
I am just so blessed that he is okay and that there is something I can do to help dull the pain a little. At least I know that he does not have any infections. I am supposed to watch him for a few days and see if he gets worse, but today he is acting better so that is okay. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father who is watching out for my little family, especially while Ben is away.

I am glad he is okay. It is not very fun when you don't know why they are hurting. Kamdon still has no teeth yet, but I am not looking forward to that teething experience. It is so crazy that teething can cause that much pain and all those symptoms. I would never guess that. Hope it continues to get better for him. No fun to fill yucky!
