Happy 3rd Anniversary to Ben and Stephanie
On our anniversary we couldn't really do much because still didn't know too many people to babysit Braeden, and it was his first time with a non-family babysitter. I asked my friend Katie to watch Braeden. She has a boy who is into the same things as B and is only 6 months older. We wanted to have at least 3 hours. So Ben and I went to a Mexican restaurant and ate some really good food. It was special to sit together and actually have alone time and have an adult conversation. After dinner, we went to Burger King and got shakes. They are so good...so what a good time to get one. After we went to get our shakes, Ben pulled out a present that he got for me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Willow Tree figurines. Ben gave me one called "Guardian." It is pictured above. It made me cry of course and had VERY special meaning to me and to us. I really loved that present. Next we drove onto base and went bowling. We were the only ones there, so we had such a great time. Ben won the first game and I won the second. After we were done bowling we played a game of pool. Ben sunk the 8 ball so he lost, but we kept playing. After the date was over we went to get our boy. He didn't even miss us at all. He played the whole time and didn't cry once, or fight with his friend. They had snack time and played together for 3 hours without even noticing we were gone. I was kinda sad that he wasn't sad, but it was a good thing to realize he can be a big boy in his own. It was a growing moment for both of us.
I am so grateful for my wonderful, kind, caring, sweet, supportive (and on and one) husband. I am so glad that we are married and having a family together. The last 3 years have been really hard, with a lot of trials, but we have made it this far, and we will only get stronger as we go. I am so glad that I have you to protect me and be there for me no matter what I need to say, or do, or be. Thank you for going to work everyday for us and making things work. I know it is not easy to leave and go to work all the time. Thanks for being my sweet Benji!
