Ben's parents were able to fly out from Missouri to attend Emerson's blessing. My family couldn't make it because we were just there the week before.
It was a beautiful and simple day. That is how I needed it. Things had been so busy and crazy before that...I just needed to focus on my little family and my Emerson's special day. I wanted to buy him a white outfit, but since they are crazy expensive and the ones and at Burlington that were not, only had crosses on them. So I opted for a little suit. It was only $10.00 at Burlington. I thought it was really cute. The only problem was that I bought a 3-6 month size hoping he could wear it for a while, but he is a chunky baby and it was almost too small.
I was really having a hard time that morning before the blessing because I really wanted my family there and my dad to be in on the blessing. It is a special ordinance and I wanted to share that with them. We made it to church and I had invited my aunt Nancy. I hoped she would come because I needed to see someone that was close to me and on my side of the family. Right before Sacrament meeting started I saw her come in. I was so excited. The blessing that Ben gave was beautiful and Emerson didn't cry (they did have to bounce him pretty hard though). After it was over, I have my aunt Nancy a HUGE hug and she told me she had to go. I was sad, but I knew she had to get back to her kids and it was a 1.5 hour drive back. I was so grateful that she showed up though.
I am so thankful to have a Priesthood leader in my home that can give my kids a name and a blessing. It is such a sacred and special thing. I am grateful to have little Emerson in our home and our family. He is getting so fun and I love my chubber little boy.
My in laws took these two pictures and it is a dang good thing because I was going to have a photo shoot with Emerson, but I got a new calling and things became more and more hectic and I missed my shot because Emerson now does not fit in his blessing suit. Oh well...at least we have these...
