Ben is Joining The Air Force
Ben has been thinking about joining the Air Force for a lot of reasons for the last month. I have been really scared, but I finally agreed to it. There are a lot of perks that we would be able to get on top of things by joining. We would be in a three year commitment, and that means we would be moving to wherever they need Ben as a nurse. We have to choose 4 out of 10 places to be stationed for 2-3 years so the only places that we can choose are in California, Mississippi, Ohio, and Texas. It is really going to be hard, and my family is going to have a hard time as well as I am, but it will be so worth it when the time is done. We will be living in a house, probably on base somewhere, and hopefully be happy. We will start this in March with Ben going to a 14 week training in Alabama. I am going to move home for that time. I don't want to stay in Denver alone for almost 4 months. That would be crazy.
So here I am almost a military wife. How did I get to this? I never would have dreamed that my husband would be in the Air Force and maybe deployed to anywhere that they need him. It never crossed my mind. I am going to have to be strong and change a lot of things. I will have to cling close to my little boy because he will be a lot of what I do...not that he is not already, but you know what I mean. It is scary to think that my husband will be a soldier. Weird. It will be a growing experience for sure and I will need the help of my Heavenly Father a lot. I hope that we can get through the next little while and not go crazy though it all. I hope you are all doing well and please remember the soldiers whatever field they may be in in your thoughts and prayers.

wow!! the air force! andrew considered doing that. And really it wouldn't have been a bad decision at all. He just couldn't stand being away for training and stuff. But it would have been totally worth it, i think! You guys will be well taken care of. I think it's a really good decision!
that is AWESOME!! the air force is really a great way to go. i have 2 brothers in the air force, one is a pilot and the other is a doctor and they both love it! its normal to be nervous bc you will be away from your fam and not sure where you will go but think of it as an adventure! and the 4 month training will kinda suck but its way nice if thats the only time he has to be away.. my bro(the pilot) has to be away from his wife for like 2 motnhs at a time (home for 2 months, gone for 2 months, so on). its hard but they wouldnt have it any other way. my doctor bro never really has to leave. and if he does, his fam goes with him. anywho, hope this helps you feel a little better. the air force will always treat yall good. its not a bad choice at all. nerve-racking sometimes maybe but im sure you are strong enough to handle it! good luck to yall!
Oh, Stephanie, that sounds so so so intense. I really hope that things go well for you.
You might want to get in touch with Jade Jones or someone else who has done the same thing so you feel less alone.
My prayers are with you! Good luck!
My dad is ex-airforce and he says it is the only way to go. Don't worry!
Wow! It will be a whole new experience for you guys. It's always scary when your husband picks a profession that puts their life on the line. Everything will be great. Just enjoy it! Good luck :)
We have some friends that joined the Navy for dental school, the perks really are incredible. I totally understand why you chose that route, I am sure things will work out great and being away from your family will just help you guys to depend more on each other. Best of luck with things!
Hey Stephanie! I was in the Army for over 4 years and my husband is also in the Army. Some of the best people I know are in the Air Force and other Armed Forces. My best friend is actually soon to be a Staff Sergeant in the AF. Trust me, your husband will be in good hands. Being a military wife is hard, but I think it's worth it. My husband will be deploying in just a few months for a year or more. I will also be living with my family... I know how hard the military life can be and also how hard a military wife's life can be. Make sure you treasure the time you have together with your boys. I'm here if you ever need to talk about anything. Congratulations!!! Tell your husband thank you for his sacrifice!!!!
Wow...this is going to be a big adventure for you guys. Good luck with everything.
