Ben's Ankle 2

Ben's ankle is finally getting better. We have been really worried about it because his foot is dark purple and really swollen. He has to do clinicals this week so we sure hope that it gets better soon! Things have been improving lately. I finally got to go to church yesterday and it felt so nice. Braeden even let me stay for all but the last five minutes. The lesson was on Finding Joy in the Journey from President Monson. I can not get enough of that talk. It is so inspirational no matter how many times that you read it and hear it.

I was also reading an article in the Ensign for June and in the Question and Answer section. It was about Mother's and this question...How can I better align my day-to-day actions and attitudes with gospel truths about family? As a stay at home mom, things get tough sometimes and I feel like my work is monotonous and like it is not worth anything. Also I have been thinking of ways to better incorporated gospel things into our home and make it a better environment, and to teach little Braeden the gospel. This article gave me simple yet great ways that I can do that, and feel important. If you get a chance to read it, I would recommend it.

Here are a few points that I got out of it:
1. Don't run faster than you have strength..."One thing that helps me is to limit my to-do-list to three or four of the most important tasks.
2. "Regularly praying with my son, singing Primary songs to him, reading scriptures aloud, and having family home evening each week have helped me focus on gospel basics, strengthening me as a mother of Zion.
3. Have fervent personal prayer and meaningful scripture study every day.
4. Break out of the daily routine. Take a walk to a different park, or make cookies for someone, or try a new recipe.
5. "Listen to hymns more frequently in our homes, inviting the Spirit to prevail. Listening to the hymns , Primary songs, or the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at home helps us focus on gospel essentials and feel more peace in our home."

Those are just a few, but all of us can do these simple things. If you are a mom, or a college student or still living at home we can all improve in these areas. I am grateful for the Ensign and all of these things that we can do to make our lives a little bit better.

Also Ben and I were talking and we looked over to see our little boy under the entertainment center. He had scooted under the TV part and was stuck. It was so hilarious.
